Mou Das: India is the best country in the world

Published

Producer Mou Das has always been proud of her country and the feeling intensifies on days like Independence Day. The producer says that she has always felt proud of her country. “The feeling of patriotism is always there. It’s just we all unite and celebrate it on 15th August and it intensifies. As an Indian, I am proud of my country with its strengths and flaws. For me, India is the best country in the world,” she says.

Ask her who is her favorite freedom fighter, and she says, “Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose. I feel that they have done so much for the country. India is what it is because of the struggles and sacrifices made by them. At such a young age, Bhagat Singh fought for the nation. It’s so inspiring to see the efforts put in by Subhash Chandra Bose. Even if I can imbibe a little of their strength in me, I will feel blessed.”

Ravi Dubey:  In 15 years of my career, I have never kissed a co-actor

Popular actor and host Ravi Dubey who is known for shows like 12/24 Karol Bagh and Jamai Raja among others is all set to reprise his role from Jamai Raja in the upcoming spin-off series Jamai Raja 2.0. Not just him, but Nia Sharma and Achint Kaur will also be seen reprising their roles.   After their hit TV show Jamai Raja, Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma have paired up once again, and this time, for a web series. The new series has the same star cast of the TV show. As it’s a digital show, the couple’s chemistry is more enhanced than their small-screen version. But not many are aware that while shooting an intimate scene for the show, Ravi almost called it quits.

A source says, “They had to shoot for a kissing scene, and as Ravi had never done one before on screen, he wasn’t too comfortable on the sets. He almost refused to do it, and the team had to reach out to his wife Sargun Mehta to convince him to do it.”

Ask Ravi about the incident, and he says, “In 15 years of my career, I have never kissed a co-actor on screen and it was tough. I had huge reservations and inhibitions about it. I was so nervous the day we shot for it. In real life, Sargun never shies away from anything. I did tell her about the kissing scene and she said, ‘Why are you running it by me?’. She was supportive of me doing the scenes. In fact, I told my mother and mother-in-law as well that the show has kissing scenes. I have to give credit to my co-star Nia, who made me comfortable. Her work ethic and the way she went ahead with it was commendable. Now, when I see the trailer, I realise it doesn’t make you uncomfortable, but adds to the story.”

Web shows are known to have bold content and intimate scenes but Ravi feels they should be really required in the story. “Just for the sake of having them is a no-no. If a script requires you to wear a certain kind of make-up or outfit or walk in a certain way, then it can also have other kinds of requirements. Then, it depends to what extent are you fine with it. I am glad that this one big inhibition in my life is gone,” he signs off

Actor Mrunal Jain was recently in Armenia and has been overwhelmed by the love that he received there. The actor says that he never expected such adulation. “The experience was very overwhelming because the adulation was different from what I experienced in Indonesia.  I never thought that I’ll be able to go to Armenia and especially attend a conference with my fans. It was such an amazing surprise,” he says.
He adds, “Every human being loves to have a fan following and fans make an actor more popular. They gave me gifts and cakes at the airport. It is so touching to see them go out of their way and find out everything about me, my likes and dislikes, just to make me happy. Fans somewhere feel the void of love in all  actors”
His fans have always made him feel special, says Mrunal. “Once while I was playing in Krishna in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat, one fan touched my feet and told me he sees the reflection of God in me,” he adds.
And who is Mrunal a fan of? “Right now, I am Ranveer Singh’s fan. He is a complete package. The way he carries himself is exemplary.  His choice of films is also good. 83 would surely be a big turning point for him,” he says.
