Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke gets in high ratings, cast elated

Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlta Hai (Star Plus), took off with a bang. The TRP ratings are high and the cast can’t keep calm! Here is what they have to say!

Rhea Sharma

I couldn’t be happier and prouder being part of a show that resonates with the audiences and promotes such a progressive thought. I feel extremely happy that fans and viewers have been supportive and have been showering their love and appreciation on the show and its characters. It simply proves that our hard work has paid off. Viewers will witness more romantic moments between Mishti and Abir, family drama and sibling chemistry as the show progresses.

Roopal Patel

I feel it’s god blessings, audiences unconditional love and teams’ hard work that have got us here.

I just pray to god and request the audience to continue loving us so that we can maintain the consistency of the TRPs. I am sure the kind of story we are dealing with will definitely give us a good rating consistently.

People have told me that they are loving the show which is always the best compliment. After Saath Nibhana Sathiya, this is a superb and very strong character that I am playing. It’s altogether different from the previous one. I am happy that the audience has liked me and accepted me as Meenakshi. I feel fortunate.

Kaveri Priyam

It’s an extremely amazing feeling obviously when you work hard towards something and you see the results in the very first week itself. You feel really hopeful and also you get really inspired to work harder and with more dedication. I hope the audience keeps loving us the same way in the future as well.

Expectations were very high right from the beginning because it is a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. I feel high expectations is a good thing because it motivates us, the whole team, to work more hard. The audience has realised that this is a very different show, unlike other TV shows. In this, there is a little less drama and more of reality. We have tried to make a lot of changes to break the monotony so expectations are definitely high and we artists are also trying to perform and work hard and live up to the audiences’ expectations.

I have some friends in the industry and they have seen the show and have said that the direction and cinematography is class apart. There is a very film-type of feel given to it.

Sameer Sharma

I feel scared to be honest because it has just begun and as it has started with a bang. The expectations are very high, so it’s a challenging situation. Everybody now wants to do their best to make sure that the level doesn’t come down. It is an honour, of course, to be accepted and loved but at the same time there is the pressure of making sure that things go well in future.

The whole feel of the show is very fresh. It’s been shot, directed and performed beautifully so everyone is saying that it’s looking very nice. It’s not like the older shows, it’s looking very fresh.

Soniya Kaur

I am surprised as I did not expect it to do so well. As when a new show starts, it takes time for the audience to get attached to it.  So I had expected that the TRPs would come around 2 or so but when I got to know that its more than that, I was surprised. I was expecting it but not so soon! But it’s great that people have got connected to the show so easily.I feel scared when expectations start getting high thinking about the future. We are putting a lot of efforts. For example, they give us the script but we ourselves try and add things to make it better.

Sanjeev Seth

It was a bit expected from our side, the way the show was being made, the storyline and everything were quite interesting. The way it was shot, the production value, the outdoor sequences and all of that…so it was expected that we will get good results out of it and we all are very happy that we got what we had thought of.

The expectations will really be high and we are trying to live up to those expectations by working harder. As this is a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, so the first weeks’ numbers can be due to various factors. Now as an independent show, from second and third week, we will come to know the real acceptance of the audience. So, the entire team is working hard.

People have liked the freshness about the show. The look is not similar to any other shows on TV,  it looks very different.

Jay Pathak

I really feel great about it. This ought to happen as everyone has been putting in a lot of effort. I have not shot much but I know about the other actors and how they have worked for hours non-stop. I am really glad that we got the result and that the TRPs have come so high.

The audience would be expecting more and more out of it and so I am sure that the scriptwriters are working on it.

Chaitrali Gupte

I am really grateful to the audience that they gave our show so much love. I was thinking whether people would love our show like they loved Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai but by God’s grace, people have liked it as much.

When you get a good TRP in the first week itself, so expectations go high definitely. So as a team, from producer Rajan ji,  director,  writing team,  DOP, technical, artists, everyone is working really hard.

Sanjeev Jotangia

I feel very happy and grateful. Actually, I had thought right from the time I had signed this show that it will be loved because it is a spin-off of the legendary Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Rajan Shahi ji is such a wonderful producer and he himself is a great director as well. To be honest, I was expecting TRPs between 2.0 to 2.5 so that way as it has come around 2.2, we all are very happy.

The expectations will always be high as I said that it’s a Star Plus show and a spin-off of a legendary show which has been running for the last 10 years. So expectations are going to be high.

Here’s what these TV actors expect from the new government

The election results are our and as the ruling party gears to take its position in power, here are what these TV actors expect from it.

Nishant Malkani :

I expect and hope for three things first is the employment rate should increase. I want more people to be employed because there is a youth sitting at home unemployed. I want them to get work so that they can contribute to our GDP. Secondly, I want the GST rules to be made simpler, we have a very complicated one right now and one more rule to control the population of our country because after a point the resources will get limited in our country. If a family has a third child, there should be some kind of drawback to that family because we need to control the population in our country, as that would also affect the unemployment rate and resources in our country.

Sahil Anand :

Our PM Modi sir is only doing good for the extremely rich or extremely poor, the middle class suffers, be it GST, property or anything. I think he should now work for the middle class since the prices of things are rising and it’s not easy for a common man to survive. He worked hard for the black money to be out but has not been successful but he should pay more attention to that.

Ssharad Malhotra :

We are known as a parliamentary democratic republic and the expectations are the same as they always were…The elected government representatives should be for the people because they are by the people. Before the elections and post results, the attitude towards the country and its citizens should never alter. Our country doesn’t need a dictator but an efficient leader with skills that can promote and encourage growth in various sectors and at all levels. Unemployment, poverty, roadside sanitation, less power supply in rural sectors,  inadequate amount of safety for women are some of the basic issues that need to be worked upon and strictly dealt with by the new government.

Delnaaz Irani :

As a citizen of the country, I am looking at a very peaceful India, everybody comes and promises things but one cannot keep up to it though I am looking forward to a very peaceful country. There should be no discrimination amongst the people, the rule should be equal to everyone, be it the rich or the poor and that would make a better India live and a peaceful country to live in without any discrimination. Expectations from the new government are too many but to start with, I would just want my country to be a place where people come and say that it’s a very peaceful country to live in and I don’t know when it’s going to happen?

Rehaan Roy :

I’m so happy for the verdict of our nation and I wish our honourable Prime minister heartiest congratulations. I expect the government to work with honesty and impartiality. I’m expecting more progress, cleaner India, more opportunities for the youth, gender equality, more protection for women and kids.

Ramman Handa :

I expect a better India in terms of educational support and employment. Also, I will appreciate if our law and order get reviewed and let the Indian citizens sense the feeling of security. We need much attention to the quality of life and I expect my new government to bring a change instead of just giving false hopes.

Tinaa Dattaa :

I feel that the government should work on the roads, there are so many potholes and as monsoon is arriving, it will get worse. So, I hope they work on it.  Traffic rules should be more strict. Other than that, they should work on the problems which we are already facing rather than focussing on inane issues. Cleanliness drive has to be more. Plastic ban initiative is good but still, plastic is being used so the law needs to be strict.

Jasmin Bhasin :

The most important thing for our country is that the peace of the country is maintained,  its relationship with foreign nations improves,  we become economically a very strong country. As we are a third world nation, people often look down upon us. So, I feel the economic growth of the country is very important. And I expect the government to work on these endeavours only because when the economic structure and growth of the country improves automatically a poor person who is not financially stable, will have a better living standard.

Krishna Bharadwaj :

My expectations from the new government start from basic amenities to common people. India is still a developing country and a lot of people are still below or at the poor line of living of standard. That needs to get balanced. Safety of women is another thing. Third, enough of these riots or lynchings in the name of religion. We don’t need statues of freedom fighters in our country, we need to use that money for the betterment of the Indian citizens. People should feel safe and secure.

Jason Shah :

My expectation and my hope are that Modi Ji continues to do a great job for India. We can already see the signs of greater progress, making India great for the first time. I hope he continues doing the job that he is doing and does it with sincerity.

Rahul Sharma :

I expect progress, India to have an established economy. It should become one of the world’s greatest powers. It should grow in a way that people should be surprised. It should be corruption-free.  Everything is very expensive right now, I feel they should work on it because poor people are suffering. Some things which were left incomplete like there was a project where they were supposed to connect all the rivers all over India, I feel if a project like that is completed, there would never be a situation faced by Indians where there will be a shortage of water. They should get such projects which would be good for our country. Infrastructure should be strong. They should work on the education system as well, so these are the changes I want the new government to do.

 Angad Hasija:

Expectations from the new government are that it should manage corruption, empower small business and provide equality to all! Complete at least 40% of what you promise. Political parties always have wonderful manifestos but they hardly fulfil those.

Bhanujeet Singh Sudan:

The expectations from the new government are for a better India. We have so much potential as a nation but due to corruption, everything is ruined and the world has taken India for granted. The new government should come up with better leaders and good ministers who can channelise their strength in a better way.

Rajesh Kumar :

My expectations with the government are very basic. The seeds they have planted in the first term, this is the time we want to see the fruit of it. 10 years is a good duration to make the world acknowledge the fact that we have gone for a change for the better. The whole idea is about basic things. They have targetted basic things which were ignored for last 65-70 years post independence like Swacch Bharat, etc.  I think this is the time they should look more after the ecology, environment and the farmers.  We should focus on producing quality food, they should start looking towards the environment and planting more trees. Things like a rally for river should be given priority.

TV producers and actors unite for a noble cause!

On the 22nd of May 2019, Chayn Kohli  (daughter of Benaifer and Sanjay Kohli) of Grade 10, organized an event and invited the Pulwama attack widows from Maharashtra to her home. “We could have catered to them at a restaurant or banquet hall as well but the intention was to make them feel welcome, both in our heart and our home. Their family is incomplete to ensure that our families stay complete,” shared a thankful Chayn.
Many dignitaries including notable actors and major producers in the TV industry graced the occasion and joined the Kohli family in offering their condolences, prayers and respect to the widows, children and other family members of the martyrs. Chayn added, “This event is not the end of what we plan to do. In fact, these families have been adopted by some of our families, hence we will continue planning events to keep them involved and appreciated.”
The intention was not just to extend their condolences but also to make the family members of the martyrs feel that they are an integral part of our life and our society. It was such an honour and privilege to be in their presence and hear their first-hand experiences of dealing with loss and courageously braving their loss.
Modest acknowledgements were made to encourage the families to take forward and build their life with honour, peace dignity and success. Chayn also raised funds to support these families but she refrained from mentioning the acknowledgements as it is “minuscule compared to their noble sacrifice”, as she put it. The families of the soldiers are as important as the soldiers themselves as they support the solider while he is at war, praying for his well being and constantly worrying about their safety. The loss they have suffered is something we can not even relate to and hence we can only try to make them smile, stand by them to help reduce the pain slowly over time.
It was an extremely successful event as others from the industry joined to promote the cause as well and help influence people to join this cause too by making generous contributions. Chayn concluded with the comment, “It was extremely honourable to get to meet these families and learn as much as I have from them. If we all make even the slightest change in our own way as humans, we all would lead a better life as a country.”
Actors who turned up included Shubhangi Atre, Rohitashv Gour, Hiba Nawab, Rishina Kandhari, Charul Malik and Mrunal Jain and producer B.P. Singh. Cheques and gifts to their children collected were handed over to the families by the actors and producers collectively. Shubhangi Atre and Rohitashv Gour play Angoori Bhabi and Manmohan Tiwari was a delight when they recited a poem along with other folks. Well, we must say these folks did their bit for the cause, what about you?
