“I will learn Tamil to understand the character better and feel closer to Jayalalithaa”: Kangana Ranaut

Published

Kangana Ranaut is one actor who gives her all to get into the skin of any character. From Datto to Manikarnika, the actress has always managed to stun the audience with different avatars. And now that Ms Ranaut is all set to play late Tamil Nadu CM, J Jayalalithaa onscreen in a bilingual directed by Vijay, she is preparing to give another performance of a lifetime.
When asked about her preparation for the role, Kangana said, “The scenes will be in Tamil, and I will learn the language to understand the character better and feel closer to her. I will begin my language classes once I honour my commitments to Panga and Mental Hai Kya.” In the meantime, it is being said that the actress is being paid 24 crores for the film, which makes her the highest paid actress. Jaya will also be one of the first films from the South where a Bollywood actor will be leading from the front.
After the release of Manikarnika, Kangana had revealed that she will start work on her biopic, but when she heard the script of Jaya, she was drawn to the script as she felt Jayalalithaa’s personality is a lot like her own. “I see parallels with my own journey in hers, but her success story is much bigger than mine. In the first narration itself, I could see myself doing the part because it came naturally to me. I could have gone ahead with my own biopic, but this was much more enticing” said Kangana.
Even though this is not Kangana’s first South film, she is rather excited for this one, “Regional films have always interested me. When we go there to promote our films, we realise they have a thriving industry of their own and there is a major lack of connecting with that audience as a Hindi film actor. I was looking for the right script to come my way and when it did, I lapped it up.”
Titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi, Jayalalithaa biopic will go on floors in September.

My Angel My Teacher movie trailer launched today by Shemaroo Entertainment

When it comes to talking about issues that have been untapped in the Indian film industry, Rahat Kazmi is a step ahead by identifying the problems and making it into a masterpiece out of it, so that it reaches a bigger audience and My Angel My Teacher is such kind of a film.

Shoib Shah the younger brother of Rahat Kazmi came across the news that government teachers of Bihar do not know the basic spellings of Apple and Mango which inspired him to make the film ‘My Angel My Teacher’ to create awareness on the lack of good education that the government school is providing in these rural areas.

The film is presented by Shemaroo Entertainment, written by Rahat Kazmi, produced by Sakshi Seth Productions, Rahat Kazmi Films, and Shoib Nikash Shah Films and directed by Shoib Nikas Shah.

‘My Angel My Teacher’ is a film that has captured the beautiful locales of Poonch region near Indo-Pakistan border with school going girls and boys from the area. The film is a reflection on an education system that struggles with its objectives of imparting knowledge to create well rounded citizens of the future.

On this Kazmi comments, “I have always heard but not witnessed the lack of education in rural areas that are barely heard of. I was personally affected by how Indian education system has turned so unorganised. Thus, with a lot of courage I took up this project with Shoib Nikash Shah. When it some to being a teacher, it is all about knowing the answers for the question asked by the students. It requires patience, courage and passion to be a part of an education system especially that of India. I hope the story touches the heart of people with its sensitive style of tackling hard subjects. Today the trailer haa been launched, I am pretty excited, as this has been a long journey in bringing all this together”

The fresh cast consists of Shoib Nikash Shah, Azmat Khwaja, Varun Choudhary, Shamim Sheikh and Naseer Sheikh. The cast new as they give authentic look and a fresh feel to film so people should feel the rawness of characters.

The film will be soon released in ShemarooMe platform in the month of April 2019.
