Humanity, Love, Fame

Dear Shahrukh Khan,

The internet today is going viral with your TED talk and it seems that the humanity has truly started following the words of this aging movie star.

In the beginning of the talk you said that you are asked to talk about the future us.But the video seemed only 18 mins long.We have spent half of our life in the quest of our future and it still remains blank to us.How the hell were you going to talk about the ‘future us’ in 18 mins?

But once I finished listening to the talk I realized you can make everything possible if you have a right outlook towards the things around you and the things happening in your life.

It began with narration of your life events with a pinch of humor to it.It takes a good speaker,a strong person and a person with powerful sense of humor to say, ” I lost both my parents at an early age.It was very careless of me.”

Further, I could only marvel at the way you could relate your life, your experiences with the changing times and the changing humanity. We could see the toll new inventions, especially the internet, is taking on our lives through your eyes and could completely relate to it. Afterall the humanity is an aging movie star right?

I came to know that you are the first bollywood actor to give TED talk. You entered with folded hands saying ‘Namaskar’.You praised your country and it’s people for the love they gave you.You gave the example of Kabir’s doha to emphasize the importance of love in today’s times.Every Indian is very proud as you were not only the self-obsessed movie star but also a true representative of India. And to be honest we just love that self-obsessed movie star that you are. That makes you ‘you’ and we love it.

You manage to restore our belief in the good side of the world. You make us believe that being good and giving love can lead you to success and a better life and make us better human beings.Thank you for reminding us of the power of love and using the power of love for the welfare of humanity.

I have enjoyed listening to SRK’s Ted Talks speech immensely these past couple of weeks. Heartfelt speech, where no script was necessary, brilliantly delivered! And I have to say I very much enjoyed reading your thoughts on the subject. In your recap you did a great job capturing every feeling, every emotion and what we have all gained by listening to it. Thank you??

We met when I first went to Pritam’s studio to record. I’ve never sung any of his compositions before this but I was eagerly waiting to. So, when he called me about a show like Oriplast Originals which promoted non film original music, with one entire episode with Suubhadeep’s compositions, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve always enjoyed singing in Bengali. Apart from the world known fact that the language is sweet to the ears the melodies are remarkable. I enjoyed every bit of singing Aajo Cholechi. We had a fantastic band and interesting instruments like the Hapi Drum that was also part of the ensemble. Papon also happens to be a good friend, so sharing the stage with him felt easy and fun!

Ori-Plast and SVF have come together to create Bengal’s first branded original content bringing forth 10 songs July featuring 16 artistes with 7 composers . It features the most popular and influential talent, from all over India, under the platform of SVF Music.
