Just two short weeks ago, the Mumbai based hip-hop dancers Kings United India was declared the global champions of the American reality show World of Dance. The judging panel of Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough gave them perfect marks for their cinematic, Bhahubhali style performance and awarded them the $1million prize. After dancing together and preparing for more than 12 years, it was an intensely proud moment for Kings United India. It was also a proud moment for India.

Now back in Mumbai to celebrate, the global champions were paid a special visit in their Vasai dance studio by Shailendra Singh and Mithoon, co-creators of the Anthem4Good – One India, My India – that is being shared and celebrated all over the globe. After explaining that they created the anthem only to spread more love in this increasingly divided world, Shailendra Singh screened the Anthem4Good music video to the entire Kings United troupe, their friends and students.

After watching One India, My India, Suresh Mukund, the Kings United Choreographer, gathered his troupe and took a quick consensus. Turning back to Shailendra and Mithoon, he said, “The Anthem4Good speaks a powerful message. We have been on an incredible journey to make India proud, and so it inspires us even deeper. We want to create a performance based on this song, and record a cover video that will continue to spread the love and unity.”

Shailendra Singh, who is also the writer and director of the music video for the Anthem4Good, responded by saying, “It will be an honour to have Kings United perform for the song. They have overcome all odds and exploded Indian dancing on the global scene with their championship win. The only objective of
One India, My India was to spread love. Their cover song will help us to unite all 1.4 billion Indians on the planet.”

Mithoon, who is notoriously reserved and quiet, also shared his excitement at the collaboration possibilities. He says, “Shailendra Singh had a big dream to unite all Indians through love. Kings United has lived their big dream to perform in front of the world. Coming together on this creation will only serve to inspire all Indians that dreams really do come true.”

With energies running high, Kings United cleared the dance floor and on the spot, gave a taste of what the cover performance would look like. They pulled Shailendra and Mithoon into the dance circle, while some of the dancers did backflips, break dance and showcased their signature moves.

The song Ek Bharat,  Mera Bharat was created and produced by Shailendra Singh and Mithoon. Mithoon is best known for popular songs like ‘Tum Hi Ho’, ‘Sanem Re’ and ‘Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga’. The song features the incredible voices of: multiple award-winning Sukhwinder Singh; the supremely talented hit-maker Jubin Nautiyal; and the fresh, sweet voice of newcomer Godswill. The incomparable Sayeed Quadri wrote the lyrics.

Suparna Marwah fondly remembers her ‘No jaggery No shoot’ incident on the sets of San’84 Justice ?

Kabir Singh, Patiala House actress Suparna Marwah who plays an important role in the upcoming film San 84 Justice ? is very fond of jaggery and her fondness for jaggery became quite an eventful incident on the sets of the film. Her assistant would always keep a nice little piece of a special fine quality jaggery wrapped in a foil for her to use anytime during the shoot. She also used this as her special formulae to clear throat and maintain good voice texture as jaggery is known to serve as a natural energy booster and stimulant also very good for throat.

However one late night shoot schedule followed by an early morning next day lineup led her assistant to forget the jaggery at home and she ended up without it at the shoot. All was well until Suparna asked for her favourite savoury and there was none, the nervous girl shivered and explained her limitation in getting it, she was very sure there was a storm coming her way and Suparnaji being the actor of class that she is made it look and sound exactly like that through her convincing expressions. The nervous girl threw all the apologies through a bouquet of words that she possibly could while Suparna ji was clear that No Jaggery no shoot till the drama continued for few minutes till Suparna ji bursted into laughed and gave it away that she was simply pulling a fast one

Suparna continued to laughs her heart out while we spoke to her about this. She described how the shoot ended successfully even with with no jaggery. This did become one of the popular lines on the sets No Jaggery No shoot and as a result of this next day there were boxes of Jaggery brought in by various people including a special one that was gifted fondly by Ashish Sahdev who had important scenes lined up with her and Ashish told us, I told Suparna ji, well I have made sure my scenes with you are going perfectly smooth, both had good laughs all through as they shot further. Suparna was actually overwhelmed with the love poured in from everyone on the sets with this lovely gesture. Director Sandeep Rana too had his take in this incident, he said It was a moment of pride for me to see my San 84 Justice team bond like a family and as a director there is nothing better to achieve, I knew from this moment we will have a good film in hand
