Singer Ronit Vohra comes up with his first single!

Singer Ronit Vohra, who will soon be launching a single, says that it is very important to him. Talking about it, he says, “The single that I am releasing is very close to my heart. It is the first Punjabi song that I have written. The lyrics and the composition are beautiful and I think everyone will connect to it. It’s a soulful love song. The line of the song is Jaane Na Tu, Mai Tenu Kitnnna Chauniyaan Ve””

Talking about how he got into singing, he says, “I was born in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. I did my schooling there and went to Delhi post that to do architecture. As far as singing was concerned, I used to sit with my aunt during her riyaaz lessons and I used to enjoy it. That was the first time I got to know that I like singing. I was very active in school and college singing competitions and won a lot of them.”

He adds, “During my college days, it was really hard for me to manage architecture and singing together. I have had endless sleepless nights working but the passion for singing kept me going. I also used to sing at local market places in Delhi for free. Sometimes, I got a lot of attention and sometimes I was scolded by the cops. I belong to a middle-class family and I have a dream to fulfil everything my family wants. I started playing guitar at the age of 6. My parents got me music books and I learned it from there. I can play the keyboard, drums, harmonium, Jembe etc.”

Soon, Ronit started singing regularly at parties. “I came to Bombay on the 5th of July 2015 to work as an architect intern and also to do something in music. I didn’t know how I would get a job in Bombay.  On the 9th of July, they took me to a restaurant named Sirocco. I was carrying my guitar and I loved that place. I requested the owner if I could sing for 10 minutes here. He refused initially but later he allowed me to do so. I started singing without the mic and I ended up doing a 1.5-hour session. The response from the people there was overwhelming. The owner asked me, ‘Will you perform here regularly?’ That made me really happy but I still didn’t have a job in Bombay which was at utmost priority. I kept on giving interviews and finally got a job as an intern after a few weeks. I shifted to Sion, in a PG, after months as my office was in Lower Parel. I did my first official performance at Sirocco on 28th Oct 2015. I did the first few performances for free. But later they started paying me a little. Later, I got a call from a restaurant in Pune and I started going there every week to perform and I used to come back the same day as I had office the next day. Eventually, people started knowing me and live music started picking up in Mumbai. I started getting small private parties where they would call me to perform,” he says.

Holi hai! It’s time to eat, dance and make merry as India’s most colourful festival is here! Singer Ronit Vohra, who has recently released his single Jaane Na Tu, has a playlist for you to groove on this Holi!

Rang Barse-The most iconic Holi song! The way Amitabh sir has sung this song is beyond words. The legend has made this song legendary!

Balam Pichkari-Amazing composition by Pritam sir. One of the best dancing Holi numbers. The lyrics are amazing and have been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya sir. Any Holi party would be incomplete without this one!

Do me a favour let’s play Holi- Love the tune, it’s super catchy! The best part about this one is the hook line-‘do me a favour let’s play Holi’. A great fusion of desi and western styles of music.

Holi Kheele Raghuveera- Another super hit Holi song by Amitabh Bachchan sir. The usage of traditional words in the song has taken it to another level. Beautifully composed by Adesh sir.

Lahu Muh Lag Gaya-The most raunchy Holi song of all times is this one. The outstanding chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika makes it even more appealing. One has to feel sexy when hearing this song. Kudos to Sanjay sir.

Vasan Bala’s Directorial venture, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, which stars Abhimanyu Dassani, Radhika Madan and Gulshan Devaiah in lead roles is all set to hit the screens on 21st of March. And while the trailer, teasers and songs from the film are getting appreciated, one question that everyone seems to be asking is, why clash with Akshay Kumar’s magnum opus Kesari?
By now, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota has become synonymous with quirky, out of the box content with a healthy dose of self-deprecating humour. And in keeping with the vibe, the makers of the film have released a new teaser where Abhimanyu himself is seen admitting that he is a big Akshay fan and will watch his film FDFS, but then, who will watch Mard KO Dard Nahi Hota?

The film is based on the story of a man who wants to fight the bad guys, and has a ‘superhero’ ability, which is actually a disorder that prevents him from feeling any pain. The film has previously been screened in many film festivals and has won numerous accolades.
Produced by RSVP movies, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Jimit Tridevi, and hits the screens on 21st March, 2019.
