Swipe for love? Actors give their view

Dating apps seem to be in the in thing to find love in today’s day and age. Here is what TV actors have to say about this.

Shivin Narang:

As a public figure, I feel it’s okay to be on such an app. The problem is people find it fake. It happened to me. I was on a dating app and people thought that it was a fake account. I deleted it, as most of the people think that celebrities cannot be on such apps. I fully support such apps as they have made people more confident about meeting new people and understanding each other. We can express ourselves easily. I think it’s really very cool.

Sahil Anand:

These apps are only for casual dating and not serious stuff. I am not on such apps. In India are really mistaken about these apps. It’s only for casual dating. People are not themselves on these apps. Even kids today know about what these apps are and why are they used. If an actor wants to be on such an app and if he is, then who are we to judge? An actor has his own personal life and he can live the way he wants.

Ira Sone:

Times have changed where everyone is moving, by the clock in big cities, in such a scenario I feel there’s very little room left for meeting someone special organically. The digital world is ruling in every space be it shopping to buying vegetables to ordering a meal, so there’s no shying away from a dating app as a tool to find a romantic partner.  Yes, I am on dating apps and I think it gives me a broader chance to meet people from different parts of the globe. In real life or on dating apps there will always be a bunch of decent men and a bunch of shallow thinkers, it’s you who gets to decide which one to pick.

Angad Hasija:

I don’t really believe in such apps. It’s not for serious and genuine people. I believe people just talk to people for some purpose or selfish reasons but if you think you will get some long life friend or a person for a serious relationship here, that’s wrong. I don’t think it is okay for actors to be on such apps because people connect to actors and then blackmail them, it’s harmful to them. It’s kind of fake and I never have been on such apps and never will be. My friends had an experience where a girl was talking through a fake account and she wasn’t what who she was presenting herself as.

Ansh Bagri:

I won’t say that these dating apps are just for flings or hookups if you are destined to meet the right one, the path could be any. I don’t feel anything is wrong in being on these dating apps, serious relationships don’t develop with such apps it happens when you meet people, understand and finally, you develop feelings for each other. People have just blamed these apps for no reason I feel if you are doing something for fun and the other person is mutually involved then there’s nothing wrong as far as you are not hurting anyone. These apps don’t guarantee you serious relationship or true love, we should not judge anyone who is on tinder or any other app. It’s like being on just another social media website. A few years back I was on Tinder and I met a few people and I never took it as a fling app and I also did an ad for Tinder.

Rohitashv Gour:

I have never been on any of these apps. I don’t think such apps are good as people who have no sense of responsibility towards life and who just want to enjoy and have a casual relationship, go on such apps. I would say nobody should trust such apps because people who are just into casual things and just want to fool around are on such apps be it, men or women. Maybe 1 out of 100 relationships might work in such a scenario.

Rahul Sharma:

I have never been on such apps and I never would with what I have heard I am disappointed with what people have been doing and using these apps for. I don’t think it’s possible to find someone special or true love on such sites, it’s very rare and these kinds of sites connect you. I don’t think it helps you find the right person. As a public figure, I don’t think one can be on it. I am not against it, I personally don’t like to be on it and would never be.

For me family comes first : Sukhmani Sadana

For me, Family has always come first but even for my brothers…they have forever been my pillars of strength. I have never differentiated between my real brother and my cousin brothers and I make sure I send a Rakhi to all 8 of them. I’m gonna miss them on Rakhi Day and how I wish That i could have tied them one in person and not through couriers 🙂

For Independence Day:
Being a good citizen doesn’t mean to just love your country. It means to love it’s good but also trying ways to fix its bad. I really do love india like it’s my own baby and I crib a lot about it, even on my social media but it’s always with an intention to fix it, nurture it and make it better for our tomorrow and our children’s day after. My country is My own and I am proud to be an Indian.

Kunal Nirola on Friendship Day: I have been lucky to make friends wherever I have gone

For actor Kunal Nirola, his friends mean the world. The actor says that his friendships have helped him become a better person today. “Friendship is one of the most beautiful and powerful things that can flourish between human beings. Friendship can help to build you up or can even destroy you. Friendship depends on how you create it. I am a very jolly person and I make friends wherever I go. I have had so many friends and I was lucky enough as wherever I went, I made friends. These friends are a blessing to me. I am a person who gives his hundred percent even if one of the friends gives his ten percent. I start loving people and get very close to them and if something affects them then it also affects me. This is the beauty of friendship, it is like a family you create,” he says.

He adds, “I am from Punjab and I have stayed in Delhi, and now I am in Mumbai. I have my family of friends in Punjab, Delhi and now in Mumbai. Recently, one of my friends got married and she made me swear to attend her marriage, which is so cute and beautiful. Sometimes you need someone who pampers and supports you and it is where the beauty of friendship comes.”

Kunal says that his family members are also his best friends. “My parents are like my friends, especially my father as I share everything with him and he is my first friend. Even my mom and brothers are like my friends as I share even the stupidest thing with them. All of my friends are very close to me and I really love them. My college friends are in Bangalore and recently I had visited them and we all go on vacations. In a city where you know no one, friends make you happy. Friendship day is coming and you all should go and express your friendship to your friends,” he says.

Happy Friendship Day: Here’s who these TV actors are best friends with

From uplifting their spirits on their ‘low’ days, handling mood swings to taking care of them, these friends are surely people who are favourite TV actors adore!

Angad Hasija

My best friend from the industry is Sara Khan. It’s been 10 years now and we are still good friends. No matter where she is, she has always stayed in touch with me. She was doing a Pakistani show in between and from there, she used to FaceTime me. We talk almost every day with each other. Many people say that a guy and girl can’t be friends but my friendship with Sara is very pure. We don’t meet much but whenever we do, it’s the same bond and connection. It’s been 10 years now, we have even done 2-3 shows together and I feel there are only a few friends who maintain friendships for so long. Once I was feeling unwell and my family was out of town, so Sara left her shoot for two hours and came to my place, took me to the doctor and dropped me back home, I am so grateful to her.

Rajesh Kumar

My best friend is a person who has been with me when I was no one. My classmate, roommate, batchmate who has been with me since 1995; his name is Kranti Prakash Jha. He is also an actor. The best part about him is the gratitude towards his discipline, the way he lives his life, the way he has maintained himself,  the way he does yoga, everything is such an inspiration for me. He has always been an inspiration. Coming from a small town, getting the title of Grasim Mr India Best dressed male and eventually landing up in films, what a journey it has been. I have seen him throughout his journey. A guy from a small town who did not even have a sense of fashion and then to become Grasim Mr India best-dressed male is very inspiring. We are actually brothers from another mother. The first time we met in Delhi during college days, I remember him looking at my thin moustache and saying in a Bihari accent ‘Arey Baap re Aap Toh Bahut Sundar Hai’. I just laughed at him at that time. He had come in formal clothes and sports shoes and from then to now, the way he has worked on himself is incredible. He is such an inspiration.

Rahuol Lohani

I have had many best friends since childhood, but in Mumbai, the first-ever good friend I made was Kirti Kelkar. We were in a show together called as Har Mod Par where I was playing her brother. I believe friendship happens automatically and no efforts need to be made. I have done so many TV shows and worked with many people but I have made only some friends and Keerti Kelkar ji is on the top of that list. I call Keerti my punching bag because whenever we fight, I am the one who gets angry and she understands me. I feel that the people who understand you are the ones who are your friends and that’s what my relationship with Keerti is all about. She is always there whenever I need her. Vikas Kadam is also a dear friend who was part of the creatives before and is now an actor.

Tinaa Dattaa

My best friend is Aashka Goradia because she always boosts my morale, she always motivates me. I have an attitude of gratitude for her. I shall always be thankful for her because she is that one industry best friend of mine who is not jealous of anybody. Who does not have ego issues? She will always show you the right path and never make you feel insecure unlike any other actors on set. She is a fabulous person and that’s why she is my best friend.
