True friends are never apart, maybe in distance but never in heart: Celebs open up about their best buddies on Friendship Day (2nd August)

Ever imagined a life without friends? How dull, boring, and lonely, without friends. Someone has rightly said that friends are the family we choose ourselves. And Friendship Day is approaching soon. While the excitement is usual, the celebration has hit a break because of the Coronavirus pandemic. But thanks to technology, though you can’t meet your best friend physically, you can have a great time with them virtually. Here are some celebs sharing details of their best friends, who are family to some, and lifelines to the others. Read on to know more:

Ashna Kishore: I am very outspoken, but when it comes to gelling up or when it comes to telling someone about yourself, I usually don’t open up soon. I know a lot of people, but I have very few friends and I made some friends when I came to Mumbai for work, like Aishwarya Sharma and Srishti Jain with whom I have worked in ‘Meri Durga’, Hiba Nawab, my ‘Tere Sheher Mein’ co-star. Raashi is there I met her on the set of ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’, though we haven’t worked together, I know her and she is really very close. I don’t have one best friend, I have four best friends. I cannot distinguish between them that whom do I love more, I love all four equally and they love me much more. They have always been there with me, they always advise me and we do a lot of masti. This year I haven’t met them yet, and I am feeling bad about it as we four used to meet every day. Because of Corona we can’t meet and I am glad that we can at least do video calls as I can’t stay without seeing their faces, it makes me feel incomplete, we share a sisterly bond and they are like family to me. I am just dying to meet them and as soon as this pandemic gets over so that we will celebrate friendship day together. I’m so glad friends don’t come with price tags. I could never afford the wonderful friends I’ve got.

Avinash Mukherjee: My best friend is my cousin brother Shubham Mukherjee and he has been my best friend since childhood. We saw the film ‘Hello Brother’ together and since than I have always called him Hello Brother. He is a mechanical engineer working in Dubai since the past two-three years. I miss him a lot. Whenever any important thing happens in our lives, we do a video call. I share everything with him. He has been my constant emotional support throughout and I am the same for him.

Srman Jain: When you don’t stay with your family, your friends become your family. And I really miss my friends because they become your only support system when you are away from your family. I have two really good friends, one is Preet Rajput, who is my best friend and Harsh Rajput’s younger brother, and the other is Ravi Dubey, he is family. This time has shown the real faces of everyone, who is actually concerned and who is fake.

Vijayendra Kumeria: I am badly missing my friends, those outings and house parties that we used to have. I have a lot of friends but most of them are not from the industry. We are connected virtually but meeting face-to-face is different, so yes, I am waiting for this lockdown to get over and everything to be safe so that we all can meet and have that fun that we used to have. They are all my best friends, but if I have to pick one then I can say it was Nirmal Gandhi, he was my batchmate during my Jet Airways days. He is a very good friend and we both know that we will be always there for each other. I am just waiting to meet him.

Vikas Sethi: Lockdown or no lockdown, COVID or no-COVID, the most precious thing in the world is friendship. I met my best friend Jasbir fondly called Jazzy when I was 17. We have countless memories. My favorite one is one crazy night when we were chasing a cow in the middle of the night. When we travelled as young guns we would get off at every train station and click photos and collect matchboxes. Most of these moments are unparalleled and priceless. Jazzy is my heart, my best friend, and someone who I have so many cherished moments with. Dosti mein sukoon hain.

Dhruvee Haldankar: My friend Gaurav Saxena is in Uganda and is often missed while I’m in Mumbai. He messaged me saying “Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.” This friendship day he sent me love and good wishes.

Khushbhoo Kamal: Being in this profession we tend to make a lot of friends but once the show goes off-air or an actor’s track gets over, then we lose contact with them. I have three best friends and we have been friends for over 17 years. We are still in regular contact with each other and there are no secrets between us. We graduated together and after graduation I shifted to Mumbai for my acting career, while they are engineers. We have a WhatsApp group in which we share everything, be it personal or professional. They are my best friend and they will be forever. In industry Aman Sandhu, Namrata Dixit, Neelam Singh, Cheshta Mehta are my good friends.

Amal Sehrawat: I think the most important trait of a human being is ‘adaptability’. Even I have adapted to virtual reality and have stopped missing the physical presence of friends. It’s good and bad at the same time because on one hand, we are getting a lot of time to spend with ourselves, to introspect and retrospect, on the other hand, we all are at risk of becoming loners. My best friend is my wife Neha. We both share a very transparent and non-judgemental relationship. We appreciate our similarities and respect our differences.

Meera Deosthale: Of course I miss meeting my friends physically and all the fun we have when we used to step out. But virtually we are all connected over video calls all day. I have two best friends. One is Sanjana who lives in Canada, we have been friends since I was 10. She knows everything about me and she has always been my moral inspector too. And here in Mumbai, my best friend is Vinny Arora Dhoopar. She’s one of those people I always look up to. Perfect in all ways for me. I wish I could spend this day with them, but I guess we will have to suffice with video calls.

Amit Sarin: Yes the lockdown has made us realize the value of our loved ones, family, and friends more than ever, which is great in a way. It’s been almost five months now of this lockdown and I miss meeting my friends badly. Just the whole idea of sitting and having a conversation about anything and everything means a lot which also leads to emotional well-being. My Best friend is Jasmeet Singh Narang, and we have known each other for over 25 years. I can and have shared anything and everything in my life with him. At many critical junctions of my life he has always supported me unconditionally, and sometimes he was the only person to do so, he has helped me move forward in life. He has this unique way of telling me where things can go wrong but has always focused on positives out of the situation. I’m blessed to have a friend like Jasmeet and few others.

Mou Das: They say friends are for life. Be it lockdown, the pandemic or any other adversities, friendship doesn’t really get affected by it. In today’s digital era people have become used to virtual meetings. Gone are those days when missing someone was related to physical meets and gatherings. Video calls and telephonic conversations have actually replaced get-togethers and gatherings. Today’s generation is well adapted with the new age virtual meetings and telephonic calls. It is so much easier these days to connect with people you love over a phone call be it video or audio. So the concept of missing has become irrelevant. However, get together and gatherings are always fulfilling and heartfelt. I don’t believe in one particular best friend thing for me all my friends are best though I don’t have many friends. For my friends, I am the talkative one so sharing everything is very easy. Aditya, a friend who very patient, good listener, trustworthy, honest and was beside me when I was suddenly quite lost setting up myself and my work in a Mumbai. He is also my company’s business head who’s leading it to a better stance. He is a true friend always standing by.

Ooh la la, check out Shashank Vyas’ drool-worthy pics

Shashank Vyas has made fans go gaga over him since the day he stepped in the industry. He made his acting debut with social drama “Balika Vadhu” and will soon be seen in Bollywood film “Laila Manju”.

The actor has a huge following on social media and he keeps them engaged with his pics. Speaking of pics, have you checked out Shashank’s new pics yet. The handsome actor looks quite hunky in the pics and will definitely make you go ooh la la.

It’s commendable how he can so easily rock a clean shaven look and even a beard and still look so hot. And did I forget to mention those pics with his chiselled body. Be it a casual tee and jeans or a formal attire, he looks lit in all of them.

And if you thought Shashank is just a good looking guy, think again. He can easily bowl you over with his poetry. In fact, he has so far written three poems, one on the plight of migrant labourers, another a romantic tragedy and one a tribute to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rupali Ganguly is elated to perform Hawa Hawai in Anupamaa

Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa is being appreciated and accepted by the audience. The show has been talk of the town for various reasons, whether it is the perfect casting of the lead Anupamaa by Rupali Ganguly and Vanraj by Sudhanshu Pandey with a stellar supporting cast or the high emotional connect with the audience are glued to the show.
Anupamaa has a lot of song and dance sequences which helps the show to go forward from time to time. Recently one of the cult songs of Hindi films Hawa Hawai from Mr. India has been shot with Rupali Ganguly.

Speaking about the whole experience of shooting Hawa Hawai Rupali says,” There is nobody in this world who can match steps with Sridevi. Thanks to Rajan Shahi who has given me so many opportunities in the show. I can’t thank him enough. Through Anupamaa all of my dreams and wishes are coming true.
I remember I have seen Mr. India as a trial show in Ajanta. It was a full house so all the kids were sitting down and then, later on, I have seen the film at Satyam theatre. In fact, I want my kid to watch Mr. India as his first film. You can’t remove Sridevi from Hawa Hawai. The dance moves of Sridevi were ultimate. In my childhood I have performed so many of Sridevi’s film songs, whether it is Nagina, Chalbaaz or Mr. India – she has been my favourite idol. I am a big fan of her work, I remember when she passed away I cried miserably and also went to give my last respect to her. This performance is a small and humble tribute to Sridevi.” Along with Rupali the rest of the cast Paras Kalnawat, Muskaan Bamne, Aashish K N Mehrotra, Jasveer Kaur also danced in the song. The song will be telecasted tomorrow.
