Vivian Dsena’s ‘Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon’ clocks eight years!

“Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” completed eight years today. The show that aired on Colors TV topped TRP charts not just for its storyline but also because of the chemistry of its lead pair, Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami. Their on-screen pair was a huge hit among the fans and they had even coined the term “Rishabala” for them.

While Vivian played superstar Rishabh Kundra aka RK, Drashti essayed the titular role of Madhubala. The show is about a girl, born on a film set, who later meets a superstar and how their feelings change from hatred to love for each other. The show had everything from love, drama, an obsession to possessiveness.

It made both the actors into huge small screen superstars overnight. Vivian even calls the show a turning point in his career.

“‘Madhubala…’ was the highlight of my career. I think that’s one show which changed my career graph completely. It gave me whatever I expected from my career and from my self. It changed my career, my name and everything professionally 360 degrees for me,” he says. He further adds, “I had given my heart, body, mind and soul to the character of RK. I am grateful to my audiences for unconditional love. Does he miss the camera between projects? “The butterflies in my stomach which are there when the moment the director says action is something that I miss the most when I am not working and it makes me want to get back soon,” he says.

To celebrate eight years of the show, Drashti took to her Instagram account and shared a poster of the show and captioned it as “8 years” followed by a red heart emoticon.

“Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” premiered on May 28, 2012 and went off-air after almost two years. It was produced to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. Hope the makers decide to come with Madubala 2!
